Derek Yee grew up in rural Saskatchewan. His first open mic was at the age of 17 in Lethbridge Alberta, and after two successful shows suffered that said that affectively made him stop comedy for a decade. After finishing University doing some improv comedy working as a family therapist. After a falling out with his improv troupe he began doing stand up and has been active in the stand up community in Saskatoon for the past two years.
